Janeane Garofalo decalares “teabaggers” racist. I don’t.

April 19th, 2009

Janeane Garofalo is angry. No doubt about that. I’m not really sure why, but somebody, somewhere, did something to her. Maybe kids teased her at school. Maybe she was rejected by boys in junior high. Who knows.  Who cares.  She sucks.

Look, Janeane, we’ve all seen your shtick before. We get it: You hate Republicans, right-wingers, the right-wing, conservatives, converse shoes that are red and Rite Aid stores. (You prefer to go to CVS because you imagine, in that crazy head of yours, that it stands for “Conservatives Very Sad.” Sorry…that was an Olbermann joke. Meaning, not funny.) But, Janeane, to come onto the Keith Olbermann Show, following highly selective MSNBC coverage of the lower 1% of the tea party crowd in attendance, and declare everyone at the tea parties “racists” who “hate the President because he is black,” is completely unfair, and untrue.  Again, just like Susan Roesgen, you know this, but you don’t care. And if you don’t know this, you are one of the most closed-minded people around (despite your thinking to the contrary).

Janeane, I now live in the Midwest, and, yes, I went to a tea party. Was I “totally pumped” about it? No. Did I think the theme was dead on?  No. Am I glad I went? Absolutely. You see, these protests are no about the witty signs, and definitely not about the hateful signs portraying President Obama as Hitler (something I’m against, and the majority who attended the tea parties are too.) The tea parties are about the protest of raised taxes and irresponsible spending of the people’s money. These protests are directed at Congress, the President, and everyone, Republican, Democrat or Independent, who is involved in the current direction of bigger government in the United States (this includes the Bush-era).  We the people are allowed to speak. And the media is allowed to make fun of “us.” Although, I can’t understand why any reputable news organization would do so–especially in such an unprofessional manner that should be reserved for late night talk shows or stand-up comedy (except would need to be funny). Just imagine this exchange, Janeane:

Liberal Kid: Mommy, what’s teabagging?  They keep saying it on TV?

Liberal Mom: Well, sweetie, it’s when a man places his genitals in the mouth, or on the face, of another person, as a sex act or a prank.  Isn’t it funny that the media outlets we rely on for unbiased information are referring to these protests in that way? Me too! It’s just like a blog! So progressive.  I’m glad we had this talk, honey.

Let me just relay a message to the media elite on the coasts: Not all small town white people in “Middle America” are racists.  There are some, unfortunately. But, there are just as many Black, Hispanic and Asian racists in the intercity. (Belive me.  I know after living in LA.)  Racism exists everywhere. And to equate protesters all across the country as simply “racist against the President” is quite possibly the most simple-minded thing I have ever heard. (Not to mention, not everybody at the Indianapolis tea party was white.)  I know you aren’t that dumb, Janeane. But you think the majority of people watching you are. And I can’t necessarily blame you, considering you do have some fans, for reasons unbeknown to me. But you can’t be serious. You can’t be. You just think you are fooling people. You are simply propaganda, Ms. Garofalo. You’ve always been propaganda. You aren’t important in the arena of public policy or opinion. You’re an actress. Go act in some stuff, collect your checks and thank God you have a career.

The tea PARTIES were about taxes and the direction America is heading. Just because Barack Obama seems like a cool guy, speaks well, and overall, seems to be an upstanding family man, doesn’t mean the people in this DEMOCRACY have to sit back and let the media run their brains, and let the government run their lives. We can speak up. We did speak up. We represent a far bigger piece of the pie than MSNBC wants you to believe, and we’re still here.  “We” of course being “Americans.”

Like I said before, I support the President.  I hope he succeeds.  I like the guy.  But I don’t have to agree with everything he says.   The United States is not a dictatorship run by media personalities and entertainment professionals.  Americans stood up. And just because the general theme of a “Tea Party” wasn’t that cool (in my personal opinion), doesn’t mean the message should not be heard. Nor does it discredit the message.

Face it, Janeane, you are wrong. If you disagree, contact me. I’d like to hear your justification. But I’m not a racist and I was there. That’s already one example that disproves your ignorant theory.

I stopped watching 24 because of Janeane. I will not support someone who hates me!
Also, I will not pay to Johnny Deep, Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Matt Damon, Charlize Theron or George Clooney.
